Kerala - God's Own Country

Kerala is a very scenic state with beautiful people all around and you can't get satisfied with just one visit (got the source of your idea Lays :P). The way they preserve their nature and culture and leverage the awesome backwaters is what makes it more special and gives us a lot of memories that will be cherished forever.

Road Trip to Kerala- This was one of the most Awesome journeys I've experienced so far...

Within one month of purchasing life's first car and a newly learned driver (L board :P) we decided to go on a road trip by car. Was tensed a bit, but the recently built Bangalore - Mysore expressway made life easy. We were travelling to Wayanad during a good rainy day and passed through Bandipore forest.  As time passed by we were gaining confidence in my Husband's driving and got indulged in beautiful nature.  We were taking breaks wherever we see a good scenic view and had long chats since there was no disturbance of smartphones & TV or the hustles of work. After a long journey, we finally reached our destination.

Driving through the Bandipore forest area was an enriching experience altogether, a road where the screen of your Google Maps turns green. Travelling through the middle of the forest with infinite greenery to the farthest point you can see makes you feel sad about the concrete jungle we live. The occasional elephant crossing where the last one of the herd turns back and gives you an acknowledgment for stopping your vehicle is a site you can remember Was not able to spot a tiger though (tough luck) but elephants, deer, monkeys, fox are the locals there. A drizzle or a good quantum of rain wipes off the dust on the trees and the whole climate & scenery will definitely straighten your lips for a long time.

Tea plantations, Mountain views, Activities, and awesome resorts are the things one should look out for in Wayanad apart from that it's the inner peace that we get by sitting idle staring at the views, enjoying a good Kerala fish fry or a chai is worth putting your money on. The people acknowledge the importance of tourists and treat you with respect and always greet you with a smile. It's so addictive that we had one more visit to Kerala in 2 months' time (Visited Kumarakom) and planning our next visit this month (Thekkady) as I said "one visit was never enough" to the "God's Own Country"
